Cookie Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how [Company legal name] (“memberbeam”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our marketing website at https://memberbeam.com, our web application at https://app.memberbeam.com, and pages that Organizations publish using memberbeam, such as websites, member portals, event pages, and forms.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser or device. They let the website remember things like whether you are signed in, your preferences, and how you use the site.
We also use similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage, and pixels or scripts that collect information about how pages are used. In this policy, we refer to all of these as “cookies”.
- First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting.
- Third-party cookies are set by another service, such as our payment provider.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
2. Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not allow third parties to track you across other websites for advertising, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
We use three categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which are needed for the website and Service to work. These are always on.
- Preferences cookies, which remember your choices. These are optional where consent is required by law.
- Analytics cookies, which help us understand how our website and Service are used so we can improve them. These are optional where consent is required by law.
Where the law requires consent, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we will ask for your consent before setting preferences or analytics cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.
3. Cookies we use
The table below describes the cookies we use. Exact cookie names may change as we update the Service; the categories and purposes will remain as described.
| Category | Cookie or technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session cookie | memberbeam | Keeps you signed in to the Service and the member portal | Session, or up to 30 days if you choose to stay signed in |
| Strictly necessary | Security token (CSRF) | memberbeam | Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery | Session |
| Strictly necessary | Cookie consent record | memberbeam | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again | 12 months |
| Strictly necessary | Load balancing and region routing | memberbeam / Amazon Web Services | Routes requests to the correct servers and data region | Session |
| Strictly necessary | __cf_bm, cf_clearance and similar | Cloudflare | Distinguishes people from bots and protects the site against attacks | Up to 30 minutes for __cf_bm; up to 12 months for cf_clearance |
| Strictly necessary | __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Enables secure payment checkout and fraud prevention on payment pages | Up to 12 months; 30 minutes |
| Strictly necessary | Checkout and cart state | memberbeam | Remembers items in a registration, ticket order, or checkout in progress | Session, or up to 24 hours |
| Preferences | Interface preferences | memberbeam | Remembers settings such as language, theme, timezone, and dismissed messages | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | PostHog cookie and local storage (ph_*) | PostHog (EU hosted) | Measures page views, feature usage, and website performance in aggregate | Up to 12 months |
We may also use Sentry in the Service to capture errors and performance issues. Sentry does not set tracking cookies for this purpose, but it may process technical information about your browser and the error that occurred.
4. Pages published by Organizations
Organizations use memberbeam to publish websites, member portals, event pages, donation pages, and forms, often on their own domains. On those pages, memberbeam sets the strictly necessary cookies needed for the page to work, such as session, security, and checkout cookies.
Organizations may add their own analytics, embedded content, or third-party scripts to their pages. Those are controlled by the Organization, not by memberbeam, and the Organization is responsible for describing them and obtaining any required consent. Please check the Organization’s own privacy or cookie notice.
5. Mobile apps and wallet passes
Our mobile apps do not use browser cookies, but they may use similar technologies, such as device identifiers and local storage, to keep you signed in, store data for offline check-in, and report crashes.
Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes use a device identifier and push token to receive updates. This is described in our Privacy Policy and is not a cookie.
6. Managing cookies
6.1 Our cookie settings
When you first visit our website from a region where consent is required, you will see a cookie banner where you can accept or reject optional cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of our website.
6.2 Your browser
Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website and Service, such as signing in and checkout, will not work. Browser help pages explain how to manage cookies:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com
6.3 Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of optional analytics cookies on our marketing website.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. We will post the updated policy here and change the date at the top. Where a change requires new consent, we will ask for it.
8. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact privacy@memberbeam.com.
